This is an English translation of the German privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung). The German version is authoritative.

2. Overview

This website consists of static pages. It does not set cookies, does not use analytics or tracking services, contains no contact forms and does not embed third-party content. The typeface is loaded from our own server. Personal data is processed only to the extent described below.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, on servers located in Germany. STRATO processes the data on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR).

Each time the website is accessed, technically necessary data is processed in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer), and browser and operating system.

The purpose is to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security, for example to defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in a secure and functioning website.

The log files are stored only for as long as necessary for these purposes and are then deleted. Longer storage takes place only where individual data is required to investigate a specific security incident.

4. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your email address, the content of your message and the technical metadata in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in responding to your enquiry.

Emails are stored with [email provider]. We delete your data as soon as it is no longer required for handling your enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations apply (e.g. for business correspondence under German commercial and tax law).

5. Links to other websites

This website contains links to external services (LinkedIn, WHU). No data is transferred to these providers when you merely visit this website. Only when you click a link do the privacy policies of the respective provider apply.

6. Recipients and third countries

STRATO, as hosting provider, is a recipient of personal data. Data is disclosed to other third parties only where we are legally obliged to do so. No data is transferred to countries outside the EU or the EEA.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20).

Right to object: Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

You are not obliged to provide personal data; however, the website cannot be displayed without the technically necessary connection data. No automated decision-making, including profiling, takes place.
